Student Assessments and Planning Support

We partner with families and schools to understand a student's learning profile and translate this into practical supports at school, using a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach.

Schools are welcome to enquire about Student Assessments and Planning Support based on their students' needs.

Good fit for students who:

  • Are working very hard but progress is slower than expected
  • Have uneven skills, with clear strengths and clear areas of difficulty
  • Struggle with attention, memory, organisation, processing speed or workload demands

This may include:

  • Parent or carer-led intake and consent, with student involvement where appropriate
  • Teacher consultation focused on classroom observations and learning needs
  • Optional classroom observation to help understand what supports work best in the real school environment
  • Review of relevant school information and existing reports, with a focus on what this means in the classroom
  • Cognitive, educational and Specific Learning Disorder assessments when indicated
  • Private cognitive assessments when a Department-funded pathway is not available or is not the right fit
  • Practical recommendations for adjustments, learning supports and next steps
  • Optional attendance at school meetings (e.g., Student Support Group meetings) where parent or caregiver consent has been provided

What you receive:

  • A clear written report with individualised recommendations
  • A brief, teacher-friendly summary to support implementation at school

Important to know:

  • Parent or caregiver consent is required for all student-specific assessments and planning support
  • Both parent or caregiver and teacher involvement is required to gain a comprehensive understanding of a student's strengths and support needs
  • Assessments for Autism and ADHD are parent or carer-led services, with school input gathered as part of the process when consent is provided
  • We do not provide diagnostic opinions or student-specific recommendations based only on a brief conversation

School-Based Group Programs

Our school-based groups support connection, communication and wellbeing in a structured, neuroaffirming way, with neurodivergent students in mind. They are designed to build skills while also helping students feel understood, included and confident at school.

Schools are welcome to enquire about group options based on their students' needs.

Good fit for students who:

  • Would enjoy a structured, supportive space to build connection with others
  • Benefit from predictable routines and guided support to participate in group tasks and peer interactions
  • Would like tools for navigating emotions, change and everyday school demands with more confidence

This may include:

  • Parent or carer consent is required, and family involvement is an important part of the program, including goal-setting and feedback
  • Structured small-group programs delivered at school (for example, SEA Bridge and LEGO®-Based Therapy)
  • Brief planning consultation with relevant school staff to confirm group suitability and goals
  • Small group sessions with predictable routines, clear structure and strengths-based language
  • Practical strategies to help students use skills at school and at home
  • Brief check-ins with parents or carers and relevant school staff during the program, where helpful

What you receive:

  • A clear program overview and agreed group goals
  • An end-of-program summary for families and the school, including goals, progress and practical next steps for home and school

Important to know:

  • Groups can be funded by families (use of NDIS funding is an option) or booked and funded by schools
  • Costs and payment arrangements are confirmed before the program begins
  • School-based delivery is offered in partnership with the school and depends on practical considerations such as space, staffing, timetables and school approval
  • We use clear consent and information-sharing arrangements, so families know what will be shared with the school and what will remain confidential
  • Groups focus on skill-building, participation and confidence and are not designed as a replacement for individual therapy or crisis support
  • Group composition and scheduling depend on student fit, school context and availability

Professional Learning for Staff

Our professional learning sessions support neuroaffirming practice in classrooms, with practical strategies that help staff feel more confident and consistent in how they support neurodivergent students. Sessions can also include clear, respectful information about neurodiversity, Autism, ADHD and learning differences, supporting understanding and reducing stigma in school communities.

Schools are welcome to enquire about professional learning options based on staff needs and school context.

  • Want practical, classroom-ready strategies that support learning, wellbeing and inclusion
  • Would like shared language and consistent approaches across teachers and education support staff
  • Support students with Autism, ADHD, learning differences and high anxiety and want adjustments that are realistic and sustainable

This may include:

  • Whole-staff, year level or education support team sessions

    • Understanding neurodiversity, Autism, ADHD and learning differences, including common misconceptions and practical implications in school settings
    • Practical strategies to support executive functioning, attention and classroom participation
    • Neuroaffirming approaches to behaviour support that reduce shame and increase predictability and safety
    • Understanding sensory needs and reducing overwhelm in everyday school routines
    • Supporting social communication and peer inclusion
    • Adjustments for learning and assessment that improve access and reduce anxiety
  • Optional follow-up consultation to support implementation and problem-solve barriers

What you receive:

  • A strategy guide and resources staff can use straight away

Important to know:

  • Professional learning is booked and funded by schools, with costs and session details confirmed before delivery
  • Sessions can be offered as a short briefing, a half-day workshop or a full-day session, depending on your school's goals and timetable
  • Sessions are usually delivered onsite, with an online option available if more suitable for your school
  • Professional learning focuses on classroom practice and whole-school consistency, while student-specific advice is provided through Student Assessments and Planning Support
